Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse 2023 Spider-Punk Black Leather Vest
Regarded as the best character despite low screen time, Spider-punk is a version of Spiderman illustrated in the animated movie, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. Sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the movie is a dive into the world of avenger styled multiverse where “Miles Morales” (played by Shameik Moore) joins forces with Spider-woman (Gwen Stacy) in a bid to save the fabric of existence from the supervillain, The Spots.
So, why is Spots the villain in the movie “Across The Spider-Verse,” and why does he hate Miles? It all started with how Miles became the spiderman in the first place. Spot (initially named Johnathon Ohnn) was a scientist who worked with his fellow partner Frisk to bring back radioactive spiders from Earth 42 and Frisk’s wife and children. The spider, however, bit Miles through a series of coincidental events and turned him into Spiderman. The collider with which Frisk and Ohn opened the portal eventually became unstable and threatened to level the city. So, in a bid to save the city, Miles destroyed the collider, which ended up killing Frisk. At the same time, Spots became mutated faceless being with many holes (each a portal to multi-verse). This caused him to lose friends, family and jobs while Miles was celebrated as a hero. Thus increasing resentment. When Spots later confronted Miles about the collateral damage, the hero shrugged it off by saying, “this is part of the business.” This further enraged Spots and he turns into an enemy that Miles can never ignore.
